9 handed 12.5% ante;Action folds to hero in the SB with 72o and an overly tight player in BB. What's 💰 the alpha if we raise 2.5bb from the SB?
They proceed to show alpha as 2/(2+2.625)=0.43.
I assume that's implying we raise 💰 to 2.5bb total, so the BB has to call an additional 2 bb? However, if we raise to 2.5bb, so 💰 the bet = 2 in the formula, shouldn't our pot variable equal 3.125 to account for the extra 1/2bb we 💰 have to put in to enter the pot?
Ignoring the muiltiplayer square root component of the calculation, they calculate the alpha 💰 as:
I'm clearly not understanding this entirely so any clarity would be greatly appreciated on this calculation.
